I need a good free program to use to burn some video files onto a DVD disc, anyone know any good ones?

imgburn for data and thefilmmachine for video to dvd players.
they both absolutely free unlike nero and all the other things the spammers above recommend.

Im using final cut pro on a MAC and need to compress it to send to a duplication centre, how do i do it?

Quite simply you need to reduce the quality of the video.

By no means am I saying cut every frame manually, but rather save the video through Final Cut Pro as a compressed video, with a lower resolution.

In terms of video, higher file size will always apply in terms of higher resolution as well as higher quality.

What file type is better to burn it on a dvd writable disc.
which file type has better quality?
mpg, mpeg, mp4, avi, or dvdrip

Personally, I think avi should have the better quality with smaller size comparing to dvdrip

I think you could use xilisoft creator which has the preview function built-in, so you can c the difference before starting to burn ur movies

I am looking for DVD burning software that will save a disc image to my hard drive. I prefer to use this software later to pick up the disk image for burning onto a physical DVD disk. I know Nero does this, but Nero comes with a large basket full of other things I’ll never use. Is there any software dedicated to burning only, and that saves a DVD image to hard drive for later burning on physical disk?

Try ImgBurn & InfraRecorder These two are free and light Weight.

Movies takes to long to burn! Is there another software that can burn dvd faster?

Unfortunately, IF you want your movies to be "burned" with high precision and quality, you’d better just be patient and wait for the burning process process to complete.

Nero 9 sucks and they ruined the whole program and I can not purchase Nero 7. I need a program, that works as good as Nero 7 did. I need Data DVD support and DVD burning support the most. Not so much DVD ripping. I can not find a decent DVD burning/coping software that rivals Nero 7.

-Nero is the first choice-

Step 1: Choose a format (to create DVD) from the drop down list, then click Next to continue.

Step 2: Click Browse Button to select the file you want to import from your hard driver.

Step 3: Choose the Video settings.

Step 4: Choose your burning device.

Step 5: Click "start" and wait for your dvd.

it’s easy. try it .com

Hi, i am trying to burn video files that i have downloaded from limewire. Here is a brief of what i have done so far.

1. I am using a Memorex CD-R recordable disk

2. I went to Windows Movie maker, then i imported a video from my limewire, under saved files.

3. Then i clicked on "publish to DVD", i saved the files under windows movie maker projects.

4. Now it says, add items, i click on next

5. Now it says ‘ready to burn disc", i click on burn…….then a pop up comes on and it reads:

DVD is not recordable

The disc in your DVD burner is not recordable DVD
please insert recordable dvd rewrite dvd something like that…

Am i using wrong DVD? help help

If the files you downloaded are MPEG files, then what you need do is make a data disk, not a video disk. Otherwise, CD-R does not a DVD make. You need to use a DVD disk. DVD’s come in 4 flavors DVD-R, DVD+R, and DVD+/-RW. Your burner docs should tell you exactly which you should use.

I’m looking for DVD-burning software like Nero Burning ROM, but one that can take any form of video file (e.g. .mov .wmv .mpg) and burn them straight onto a DVD-R. I’ve only been able to find software that needs to go through a time-consuming conversion process before it even touches the disc.

Is there any software out there that eliminates the waiting phase?
