How often do you make copies of DVDs and store them on your computer for later playback or burn them on the DVDs? There are plenty of people around the worlds who would want to make copies of good and exciting new movies in DVD format and are often left without a DVD burner. Which famous painting should I copy?
I have an art assignment where I can choose any realistic classic/master painting and then I have to recreate it. The problem is, I don't know where to start! I've looked at various artists' paintings such as da Vinci's and Rembrandt's, but these look so difficult! I am not very good with drawing and/or painting people, so this is very hard for me. I want to do a Surrealist piece, but I have do something "representational" and I don't know if that falls in that category. I just need to find a painting that is a classic, representational piece that is not that difficult to copy. Can you give me any suggestions? Thank you so much. I greatly appreciate it.

The painting on the face is very good for the youngsters specially the children and they love the face painting on their faces. If you make some painting stencils on your face then it is easy for you to make the face paintings. In order to make a face stencils on your face you need a craft knife, a piece of hard kind of plastic, you must have design in the form of hard copy with you. A board on which you can cut the things and a solution tape. So first you need draw a sketch on the child area so that you can easily pain the face. Just make complete sketch on the face of the child so that later on you can paint his or her face very easily.

Picasso or Dali. They had some very basic stuff which is easy to copy and is also strangely appealing to an artistic 'sense'. They often used monocolor shapes to achieve starkness. Copy one which 'grabs' you.
Much like the experts who council in the art of what colors, furnature shape, placement for a pleasing room. It just seems 'right' when they are finished doing it. Picasso and Dali are like that for many of their works.

Know it sounds cornball but I know what I like in art when I see it. American Museum of Modern Art in NYC was an eye opener as to what is 'art'. Some, however, stopped me in my tracks.

I once made a copy of this painting by Corot and quite enjoyed it: http://www.ibiblio.org/wm/paint/auth/corot/corot.agostina.jpg

Surrealist art can be representational, as long as you can identify elements in the painting (even if they are depicted in unusual or unrealistic ways). Most work by Dali is both surrealist and representational, while some Max Ernst paintings and Joan Miro, Hans Arp, and other surrealist or dada art is non-representational (or abstract). DiChirico would be a good choice for a representational, yet surreal artist.

Check with your teacher to be sure you understand their definiation of "representational". He/she may or may not accept a reproduction of a surreal painting.

Here's an early Dali painting that would be not too hard to reproduce: http://www.virtualdali.com/25GirlStanding.html
