I need a DVD burning program that can burn AVI movies to a DVD so i can watch them on a DVD player. It can be free or cost money. It doesn’t matter. Thanks.

I recommend Cucusoft Mpeg/Mov/RMVB/DivX/AVI to DVD/VCD/SVCD Converter. It enables you to convert and burn any video file directly to VCD, DVD, SVCD, MPEG1 and MPEG2 format such as WMV to DVD, AVI to DVD.This DVD Creator is the most powerful other that I have used before.

First, you’d need to convert the AVI file into a divx file.
Here is a link to a divx converter: http://www.divx.com/en/win, of course it’s not free

Once you have converted the file into divx, you need to burn it onto a disk (I use CDBurner XP), then you now need a divx DVD player in order to watch it on your regular TV. Regular DVD players won’t read it.

Whatever the first guy said is right. In order for a pure AVI file to be watched on a TV set, you need a Divx DVD player

What you need is a video converter to convert your video to the format readable by a DVD-Player.
An excelent option is ConvertXtoDVD http://www.vso-software.fr/products/convert_x_to_dvd/

The following tutorial introduces how to convert video to DVD.

Step 1: Convert video to Mpeg/Mov/RMVB/DivX/AVI.

If your video is the mpeg, mov, rmvb, divx, avi formats you can skip this step and go to step 2 directly.

If your video is not the video formats above you should convert your video to mpeg/mov/rmvb/divx/avi.

You can free download a total video converter to convert all video formats to Mpeg/Mov/RMVB/DivX/AVI.

    http://www.dvdripmac.com/total-video-converter-ai.html

Step 2: Convert video to DVD/VCD/SVCD directly.

Now you can convert your video to DVD/VCD/SVCD easily and fast with the following dvd burning software.

If you want to burn avi movies to a DVD and then watch them on your DVD player, you’ll need a DVD authoring program (which combines the function of DVD burning). I’d like to suggest Womble EasyDVD. I’m now using it for DVD creation, it’s very easy-to-use yet powerful, I can use it to add chapters, menus, and then burn to a DVD disc or an ISO file.

Here’s a tutorial talking about the basic steps of using Womble EasyDVD to author or burn a DVD disc. http://www.womblesoft.com/support/tutorials/01-how-to-author-a-dvd-disc.html
