I am currently using Roxio creator 2009. The encoding process to make the video playable in most DVD takes the longest time. Typicaly It takes roughly 50 minutes to encode. This doesn’t include the burn to disc time. I’m guessing this is the case with Nero as well.
Hi, Nero8 and above use a technique called Smart Encoding which dramatically reduces the time taken to render a DVD prior to burning. I also find that Nero encoding does not suffer the lip-synch problems that I have had with other authoring software (Pinnacle, Ulead etc).
Nero’s editing interface is a bit quirky but, once used to it, it is extremely versatile.

i have used Nero but i also find that Winavi seems to be pretty good but it all depends on what type of files you want to authorise??
