Someone told me that when we are burning a cd/dvd, we should close all other programs(like mp3, video players). If there are some programs running in the background, the cd/dvd created by burning will be of low quality and some data loss may occur during burning. Is this true?

Yes,but to some extent.

This is true to some extent, most burning programs now are built specifically for burning without data loss now a days. Used to be if you maxed out your memory or processor during a burn session the buffer for the data to be burned would be messed up and you would corrupt the CD. However many programs now buffer the entire session before starting.

Use ImgBurn. It’s the best free tool.

Heck yes if you don’t have "buffer under run protection" AKA "burnproof", but most burners have that nowadays. A CD only takes a few minutes now, so just hold off on watching that monkey on youtube until after the burn - it couldn’t hurt.

As long as ur system has a enough RAM and a processor that can handle multiprocessing , and a good enough Burning tool it should work mostly.

But i dont mix disc burning with any other process.
After all u r creating a hard copy and if something went wrong u loose a disc.

Its only a few minutes job wait it out.
