Difference between DVD/CD duplication versus DVD/CD replication?

Is there a difference in APPEARANCE when it comes to duplication versus replication? From what I have read, replicated DVD/CD's are just the same as 'factory-pressed' products… ergo, I'm guessing that means a replicated disc will have a silver bottom versus a colored-one like a 'burnt' (or "duplicated") DVD?

I believe you're correct. Replicates are exact copies, right down to the physical disc. Duplicates are also copies, but may be less than 100% true to the original.
